Dimensional Fund Advisors Ltd.
David M. Salisbury assumed the leadership of Dimensional's London subsidiary in 2002, having previously served on the board of directors of Dimensional Fund Advisors from 1988 to 1996. His knowledge of the investment industry has allowed him to bring his own view and experience of money management to bear in setting up an office in the UK to manage Dimensional's business in Europe and the Middle East.
After receiving his MA in mathematics from Oxford University in 1973, David joined Schroders plc as an investment analyst, working in London and New York before becoming a portfolio manager and global head of research in 1979. In 1984, he was appointed executive vice president and subsequently chief executive (1986) of Schroder Capital Management International (SCMI), a position he held until 1996. During that period, SCMI grew to be the largest non-US-owned manager of international equities for US pension funds. In 1996, David was appointed joint chief executive of the Schroder Investment Management Group (SIM) with responsibility for all operations outside the UK. In 1998, he became chairman of SIM and in 2000 chief executive of Schroders plc. He resigned from Schroders in 2001 and joined Dimensional shortly thereafter.
